Philly Style Sloppy Joes

  • extra lean ground beef

  • beef broth

  • light shredded cheese

  • cornstarch

  • bell pepper

  • hamburger buns

  • olive oil

  • onion slices

  • steak sauce

  • taco seasoning

  1. Heat a large pan to medium/high heat, add the chopped onions, peppers and olive oil. Saute for 3-4 minutes or until they are soft.

  2. Pour into the smaller bowl and set aside. In the same pan add the beef and broth for 3-4 minutes. Return the veggies into the pan and combine.

  3. Add the steak sauce, salt, pepper and seasoning into a small bowl.

  4. Whisk cornstarch into beef broth and add to the beef mixture. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed.

  5. After you have turned off the heat, top with cheese and allow to melt.

  6. Toast hamburger buns and scoop mixture into the buns.
